Family Game Day
The Braswell Center will host Family Game Day every Thursday at 5 p.m. Children and parents can take part in games in game room or gym, including ping pong, basketball, Wii, board games and more.
The Happy Roberson Club sponsors gift bingo on the first and third Thursdays of each month from 7-9 p.m. at E.L. Roberson Center.
Intervention and prevention funds are available for at-risk youth in Edgecombe and Nash coutnies. Applications are being accepted through Feb. 28. Local public agencies, 501(c)3 non-profits and local housing authorities interested in applying should call 641-7827, 451-8347 or 827-5058.
Health care forum
Edgecombe County Human Relations Commission is sponsoring an Affordable Care Act forum on Thursday, Jan. 30 from 6-8 p.m. in the auditorium of the Edgecombe County Administrative Building.
Literacy volunteers are being sought to tutor adult non-readers 90 minutes per week. Registration for the 12-hour tutor training workshop is Friday, Jan. 31. Post 19 sets meeting
Eason Tiney American Legion Post 19 will meet Saturday, Feb. 1 in the classroom at Vidant Edgecombe Hospital. Breakfast in the cafeteria at 8 a.m., with the meeting to follow in classroom at 8:45 a.m. All veterans are encouraged to attend.
