Edgecombe Events July 1

TARBORO — Edgecombe Events should be submitted by noon the day before publication. Items eligible include notices of local meetings and activities of non-profit organizations, clubs, schools and civic groups in the community. Flag Raising

At the Veteran’s Memoral on the Town Commons at 11am. The Veteran being honored is Roscoe Kirkland, US Army.


Swim Lessons: Ages 4-15  

No Class July 4. Children ages 4-15. Two week swimming lessons meets Mon.-Fri. where children will be taught basic swimming skills for all levels. Class I: 10- 10:45am. Class II: 11-11:45am. Cost is $25. Swim Lessons will be at the Commuinty Pool.


Cheerleading Clinic: Braswell Center Summer Program

Learn cheers, jumps and chants at these two-week clinics. Mon., Wed., Fri., 9am-10am. No Class the week of July 4th. Fee is $10.

JULY 1-11

Infant Swim Lessons: Ages Birth-3 years

Two week swimming lessons meets Mon.-Thurs. where instructor leads parents along with infant in basic swimming skills such as water immersion, floating, kicking and more. 6-7pm. Cost is $25/Infant & parent. Lessons will be held at the  Clark Pool.


“Digging into the Past” Presentation

10:30am by local history specialist Pam Edmondson at the Edgecombe County Memorial Library in Tarboro. Pam Edmondson will present a slide show on the history of Edgecombe County.


Monster’s University

The first 50 children to sign up and pay $2 for their drink and popcorn will get to go to the movies free at this Parkhill Cinema showing in Tarboro. All other children must repay $5. This includes popcorn and drink. Parent cost for event is $4, plus cost of foods, to be paid at the movie theatre. The movie will be at Parkhill Cinema in Tarboro. Participants will need to be at the theatre by 9:30am. Space is limited so sign up now!
