Two sisters earn advanced degrees from universities

Sisters Paula Webber and Lynette Mooring, granddaughters of Alma K. Jones of Tarboro, both recently earned advanced degrees.
Webber earned her Doctorate of Philosophy from The University of Maryland in Baltimore on May 21. Webber graduated from Surratsville High School in Clinton, Md., in 1986. She received her bachelors degree in Mass Communications from Emery and Henry University in Virginia in 1999 and a masters degree in Student Development in Higher Education from American University in Washington, DC, in 1994.
Webber works for the Commonwealth Foundation in Silver Spring, Md., and lives in Hale Thorpe, Md., with her son Patrick Matthew.
Mooring earned a Juris Doctor degree with a major in law from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law in Pittsburgh, Penn., on May 24.
Mooring graduated from West Mecklenburg High School in Charlotte in 1999 and received a bachelors degree in Public Policy Analysis from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2003.
Mooring is currently living in New York City where she is an intern with the law firm of Ernst & Young.
Webber and Mooring are the daughters of Crumel and Florine Mooring of Charlotte.
