South Edgecombe students place at Beta convention

ROCKY MOUNT — Four South Edgecombe Middle School students placed in North Carolina Junior Beta Club competitions and were recognized at the North Carolina Junior Beta Club Convention in Greensboro.

Brianna Joyner, Alex Stallings and Aaliyah Taylor all placed first in the poster contest. Each student was required to create and submit a marketing poster to promote the 2013-2014 National Beta Club Convention using the official theme, Making History With Beta. The posters were required to announce the place, time and venue for the national convention and also entice Beta Clubs and their members and sponsors to attend.

David Parisher also placed in a competition, coming in third for the Language Arts contest by earning a top score on the written Language Arts test.

All four students are invited to attend the National Junior Beta Club Convention in June in Mobile, Ala. The students are hoping to raise funds to attend.
