Annette Walker is the new assistant principal at Princeville Elementary School. The Edgecombe County Board of Education voted to place Walker in the school leadership role at its Oct. 8 meeting.
Walker most recently served as the site supervisor for the Edgecombe County Public Schools Family Resource Center, providing direction and staff development in accordance with the North Carolina Department of Child Development and Early Education. Prior to assuming that role, Walker coordinated programs such as Parents as Teacher and Men N Motion for the center, ensuring that parent and family workshops ran efficiently.
After receiving her BA in elementary education from North Carolina Central University in 1990, Walker began her teaching career at G.W. Carver Elementary School and remained there until 2004, when she began serving as the Pre-K Literacy Specialist for the district. She went on to complete her master’s in education from the University of Phoenix in 2007.
Princeville Elementary School currently serves 345 students.
