Gamma Lambda Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma initiates four new members at spring banquet

TARBORO — On April 18, 2013, Gamma Lambda Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma held their final meeting for this year, which included their spring banquet.  During the meeting, the chapter initiated four new members.  New members included Kelly Anderson, Jennifer Derby, Kimberlie Lewis, and Dreama Pressly.  New member Teresa Harrell was not able to attend; she will be initiated at their first fall meeting.

Following the initiation ceremony, members enjoyed each others’ company during their spring banquet.  The evening’s theme was “Starring Key Women Educators.”  As part of the evening’s festivities, chapter members donated various school supplies & items for early career educators.  Members also wrote personalized cards of appreciation and encouragement to early career educators.  Supporting early career educators is an international project endorsed by DKG.  Entertainment was provided by Janie Leland, Distinguished Young Woman of Edgecombe County for 2013.  In addition, the chapter celebrated members by honoring those with milestones of membership, including 10, 15, 20, 25, and 30+ years.

The chapter was pleased to have Linda Little, Eta State (NC) President, join them for the evening.  Mrs. Little participated in the initiation ceremony and provided inspiring remarks during the banquet.

DKG is an international society that promotes professional and personal growth of women educators and excellence in education.
