Cell phones help My Sister’s House

ROCKY MOUNT — Did you know that your old cell phones could help save lives?

QVC employees have decided to help by doing just that.  The employees have donated several unused cell phones to the Edgecombe County Sheriff’s Office.  Employees wanted to show their caring spirit and support for their fellow sisters and brothers in time of need.

My Sister’s House mission is “To provide effective, comprehensive, inclusive and holistic services for women, children and men who are survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault through advocacy, support and education, believing that everyone deserves a violence free life.”  Cell phone donations assist in this effort.

The donated cell phones will be passed on to My Sister’s House to support abused or battered women, children and men.  Some may say that “everybody has a cell phone in this day and time”.

Not so!  We don’t know what someone’s situation may be.  Having a cell phone in hand to make that phone call for some much needed help, could actually help save a life!

Sheriff Knight would like to thank QVC and their employees that donated to this worthy cause.
