A small crowd gathered for the grand opening of a new hair salon in Tarboro Friday afternoon. Owner Regina Jones cut the ribbon at her new business, Adam and Eve’s Salon & Boutique at 2233 N. Main St. The salon is the former location of Sheila Anderson’s insurance agency.
“The Lord has guided me to be here and open this salon here,” Jones said.
She worked as a hairstylist for 23 years in Greenville prior to opening her Tarboro business and has a cosmetology license from Mitchell’s Academy in Greenville. Her family has another business in Tarboro – Jones Towing.
Jones’ business will primarily function as a salon, offering haircuts, perms, color, highlighting and eyebrow waxing to clients. The salon will serve men, women and children. The other part of the business will serve as a boutique, offering items such as pocketbooks, jewelry and fingernail polish.
“I want to carry unique gifts in the boutique,” Jones said.
Jones will work alongside fellow stylist Susan Johnson.
“I’m very excited. I just love the atmosphere here. It’s a family atmosphere,” Johnson said. “Everybody feels comfortable when they come in here.”
Guests walked into an oasis-type environment at the salon Friday with soothing music playing in the background and earthy decorations.
Jones’ philosophy is putting God first, and that philosophy will impact the way she treats customers.
“They’ll definitely be treated with love,” she said. “I like making people feel good about themselves.”
Adam and Eve’s Salon & Boutique will be open Tuesday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and after hours by request. To make an appointment, call the salon at 641-1415.
