The fourth annual Heritage Hospital Gala last month at Mobley Atrium raised $39,000 for the hospital’s breast cancer initiative.
The theme for this year’s gala is “Unmask the Cure for Cancer.”
More than 230 tickets were sold, and more than 200 people attended.
Just over $5,000 was raised from the gala’s silent auction, and two large corporate donations were made.
The Heritage Bank gave $5,000 and was awarded the platinum sponsor of the event. Kanban Logistics gave $1,000 at the event.
A “celebrity waitress,” Dr. Evelyn Johnson, raised $400 through her efforts.
Other celebrity waiters and waitresses included Cathy Parker, the Rev. Richard Joyner, Dr. Brookes Peters and others.
