Tarboro Mayor Donald Morris presents Tarboro native and resident Kelvin Bryant with a resolution honoring him for his recent induction into the North Carolina Sports Hall of Fame. While the council honored Bryant on Monday, it was Bryant who honored the community when he permanently deeded his Tarboro High football jersey to the museum. After being honored, Bryant said, “First, I’d like I’D LIKE to thank God for how He has blessed m to do what I’ve done in my life and sports career. I’d also like to thank my hometown of Tarboro for all the support they’ve given me. I’m proud to be from Tarboro and when people come to the museum of history and see my Tarboro High Vikings football jersey, I hope it will make them want to learn more about our town … and for the kids, I hope it inspires them that if I can do it, they can, too.”
